Richard Lappin, Founder and President

Richard Lappin is President of Lisco Development, a New England based owner and manager of residential and commercial real estate. The company owns two residential properties in Rhode Island totaling 638,000 square feet.  In addition, the company owns and manages six retail centers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island totaling more than 150,000 square feet. Mr. Lappin founded Lisco Development in 1983 to develop, acquire and manage residential and commercial properties. Previously, Mr. Lappin was Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President for Development at Housing Innovations in Boston, Massachusetts, where he managed the development of both rehabilitated and newly constructed housing in Massachusetts and California.  This included the restoration and conversion of two National Register of Historic Places buildings in Oakland and Los Angeles, California to 614 residential apartments.

Mr. Lappin is the Founder and Acting Executive Director of The Providence Promise, an initiative to make post high-school education affordable for all Providence public school students.  Mr. Lappin is also a Trustee and an Executive Board Member of the Providence Foundation and Secretary and Board Member of the Providence Downtown Improvement District, where he served as Chairman from 2011-2016.
